Ki-tae has become a clingy stalking ex who can’t let Jang-mi suffer, and goes out of his way to meddle in her affairs to his own arterial detriment. And Jang-mi is striving to become a self-preserving independent person who doesn’t have to lean on anyone and can be cool in love. She tells him to hurry up and get a move on, so he throws her onto the couch and lands on top of her with puckered lips.

The focus was never on how poor Jang Mi was because Jang Mi’s not poor, she’s just working class. It’s not even noble idiocy because she wasn’t even rejecting him for his own good. My patience with Jang-mi (though I understood her reasons) was wearing thin this episode… I am not sure if the families are really being torn apart, or if they actually have been for years, and this was just the catalyst that finally prompted everyone to start moving out of the walls they have all built around themselves. He spends forever trying to figure out how to do his hair, and comes out with this overly moussed ‘do.

As far as actual subtitles go, more is always better so I toggle between the two subs (viki and kdrama.com) when watching. Viki definitely has some lines that are incorrectly translated though – some just don’t make sense in the context of the show when the corresponding kdrama.com subs do. Ki-tae tries to reach Jang-mi but remembers that her phone was ruined, and speeds up to try to get to the restaurant before his mother does.

The mom still bother me tremendously in this one..even though she told the husband if he wants the mistress then a divorce is decided..but then whay? This drama is so utterly satisfying from a writer’s perspective. There was such a clever flip of characterization here and you saw how absolutely honest it felt because the writer(s) have been diligently laying the groundwork for this in a believable fashion. But they’re not falling back on the poor girl/rich guy plotline from what I see. True, Ki Tae is still rich, but his practice is in danger of going out of business.
